Paramount prices
What a tile roof costs in Paramount
Tile pricing has two parts that get confused: the tile itself, which lasts decades, and the underlayment beneath it, which does not.
Or call (562) 316-3010Your request is in.
We are matching it now against roofing contractors working in Paramount and the surrounding area.
- Today, usually within the hour. The first contractor calls or texts the number you gave us. ASAP requests go out first.
- Up to three of them, no more. We cap it at three so you can compare without your phone melting.
- They come and look. Estimates are given after somebody has been on the roof, not over the phone.
- You decide, or you do not. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to pay us.
If you do not hear anything today, check your voicemail and spam folder — contractors often call from a mobile number.
These are estimated ranges, not quotes. Compiled from public installed-cost data for California and adjusted for how Paramount is built. No contractor is bound by them, and nobody can price a roof they have not stood on.
| Covering | Per square | Typical whole roof | Expected life |
|---|---|---|---|
| Architectural asphalt shingleThe default choice on most American homes, and usually the right one. | $625 – $1,000 | $12,000 – $29,000 | 25 to 30 years |
| Concrete tileThe tile lasts far longer than the underlayment beneath it, which is the catch. | $1,300 – $2,000 | $24,500 – $58,000 | 40 to 60 years |
| Clay barrel tileOften salvaged and re-laid over new underlayment rather than replaced. | $1,600 – $3,300 | $30,500 – $95,500 | 50 to 80 years |
What moves the price
- Ventilation work, if the old roof was cooking itself from underneath
- Permit and inspection fees, which vary more between towns than people expect
- Whether the valleys, drip edge and step flashing are being replaced or reused
- How many old layers have to come off before the new one goes on
- How much decking turns out to be soft once the covering is stripped
Locally
These winds are not constant, which is the problem. A roof gets nine quiet months and then one night at fifty miles an hour, and whatever was marginal goes.
Expect a small percentage of breakage on any tile job. An honest quote says so and prices the replacements.

Questions about price
Do I have to hire anyone?
Not at all. Plenty of people use this to find out what a job costs and then do nothing for a year. That is a perfectly reasonable outcome.
What warranty should I expect?
Two separate things. The manufacturer covers the material for its rated life, but only if it was installed to their specification. The contractor covers workmanship, commonly five to ten years, and only for as long as they are trading.
Do I need a permit?
Almost certainly, for a full replacement. The contractor should pull it, and the fee should be a visible line on the quote rather than a surprise.
What is it going to cost?
No cost, no obligation, and never more than three contractors.
